February 12 |  Important Message from Pastor

Dear CLC Family,

I am sending this message to let you know that this morning I tested positive for COVID. I am doing fine! I am not sick except for my head being stopped up and some coughing. Bro. Rory also tested for COVID this week, but he is doing much better. Bro. Jason Hodge will be ministering in the service tomorrow. We will postpone more baptisms until the next Sunday! We have several more people to be baptized! Just keep us in your prayers!

January 15 | Important Message from Pastor

Dear CLC Family,

After getting advice from those in the medical field and because we have seen a good number of the families of CLC affected by the Covid virus this week I have decided to dismiss service Sunday, Jan. 16th and Wednesday, Jan. 19th

I hope you understand this decision!  I am only trying to look out for the members of CLC, especially our seniors.  This is not a decision I take lightly!  I love to have church and I know you do too, but we must be wise during these difficult times.  Thank you for understanding!  I hope to see you all at CLC on Jan. 23rd.  Stay safe and be blessed!

Sincerely

Danny Chance, Pastor

January 12 | Important Message from Pastor

 Dear CLC Family,

Due to the rapid spread of the Covid virus and several in our church testing positive this week, we are going to cancel Wednesday night service and Thursday night Men's Night of Worship. As far as I know there will still be service Sunday morning at 10am. If anything changes, we will notify you. Please let me know if you get sick and test positive for Covid. We are doing our very best to keep all our members safe!

Sincerely,

Danny Chance, Pastor

August 25| Important Message from Pastor

Dear CLC Family,

We are planning on resuming our midweek services starting next week on September 1st. We have been blessed to escape an outbreak in our church, and as long as there is no further spread of the virus we will resume our normal service schedule.

In addition we will be introducing a
simple wristband system as a way for everyone to worship and interact with one another comfortably. We will be providing RED & GREEN wristbands as a way to communicate your preference regarding social distancing while at CLC events.

If a person is wearing a RED wristband

- Do not closely approach or shake hands ; maintain 6 ft of distance

We have many members who are more vulnerable to infection and many who have health conditions that necessitate a more careful approach. The Red wristband will be a quick easy way to communicate that you prefer not to be approached.

If a person is wearing a Green Wristband

- Feel free to approach,  and interact as you would normally.

Our desire is to create a place where everyone can return to church and worship comfortably, without worry or fear of exposure to Covid-19. Be on the Lookout to grab a wristband during our upcoming services!

Thank you all for being the best church there is, we look forward to worshipping with you on Sunday!

August 17| Important Message from Pastor

Dear CLC Family,

Due to the current Covid crisis in our area, we will be temporarily suspending our
midweek services until further notice. We feel this will help us by allowing us 7 days between our services to assess our congregation's exposure.

For the second consecutive Sunday we had a member who tested positive for Covid after attending Sunday Worship with no symptoms. For that reason we feel it would be wise to limit our exposure, and give ourselves time between Sundays.  Right now we are in a precarious moment in our parish, and want to be sure we are taking the best steps to both protect our church members and to fulfill our mission as the church!

We will continue to gather together on Sundays. We ask that you spend time in prayer and the word with your family throughout the week. Also, please remember to keep those members who are recovering from Covid in your prayers.

Blessings,

Danny Chance, Pastor

August 8| Important Message from Pastor

Dear CLC Family,

I am writing today because since our service at CLC this morning we have had a couple of our students test positive with COVID. I am going to use all caution! Our students had an outside event Saturday and at least one of the ones that tested positive were at the event. Those students were at CLC this morning unaware of any sickness. There were students and adults at the Student event, and we really do not know who all was exposed then or at church this morning.

Since there is such an outbreak of COVID in our parish and state, I feel like we need to cancel our Wednesday service this week until we can determine if anyone else should have any symptoms. If there is anyone else that tests positive or becomes sick, I would appreciate it if you would contact me and let me know.

We will determine by Saturday if there will be service on Sunday. I feel we must take all precautionary measures during this time. As you know, we have been very blessed to not have a major outbreak of the virus at CLC and I am doing my best to keep it that way! I do trust that you understand my decision!

Please join me in praying for those that are sick! May the blessings of God be upon you all!

Please contact me if you need me.

Sincerely,

Danny Chance, Pastor

August 4| Important Message from Pastor

Dear CLC Family,

We would like to provide some information and guidance for how we will move forward during the recent Covid-19 surge. As many of you already know, our state is facing the highest Covid-19 infection rate in the nation.

It is our goal to both continue to gather for Worship and protect our church family from an outbreak. With this in mind, we will continue to meet for services, but want to suggest several measures that will safeguard us, and help us continue moving forward during this season:

1. We encourage you to practice social distancing while on campus.

2. We have provided Hand sanitizer at each entrance for your use.

3. Regarding Masks; We encourage you to wear them if you feel the need to do so. We will not require anyone to do so in order to participate in our services.

4. Be mindful of the preferences of those around you! We have many members who are statistically at greater risk. We want to make sure they are able to Worship comfortably and safely.

5. If you are ill or running fever; please stay home!

Ultimately it is our greatest desire to be able to move forward safely, and serve God effectively through this season.

We appreciate your support and understanding!

July 21 | Important Message from Pastor

Dear CLC Family,

This letter is to inform you that we WILL have service this evening at CLC. We are proceeding with much caution.

As you probably already know, COVID 19 cases are on the rise again and last week we had several in our church that were infected with the virus. We did not have service because we were trying to avoid others being infected. We feel that we can now go ahead and have service at CLC, and we will proceed again with great caution.

We ask that you practice the following guidelines while at church. Please practice Social Distancing! Do not hug anyone! Do not shake hands with anyone! Please use hand sanitizer provided at every entrance! If you are sick or have ANY symptoms of COVID please stay home until you are well! These are simple things that will help us not spread the virus and we can avoid an outbreak at CLC.

I do hope you understand our decisions and know that we are doing things in the best interest

of our church. I do pray that you and your family are well and will remain so! May God bless

you as we navigate these unchartered times.

Sincerely,

Danny Chance, Pastor

July 17 | Important Message from Pastor

Dear CLC Family,

I trust you are all doing well! We are again in a very trying time with the COVID 19 virus. As I write this letter, I know of 7 of our members that have COVID. All of them did not contact the virus at CLC, but from different places as far as we know. Nevertheless, there are 7 cases of COVID connected to CLC.

With that said, we have decided to cancel our service for this weekend. There will NOT be service Sunday at CLC. We are doing this as a precautionary effort to prevent an outbreak of the virus in our church. I do hope you all understand!

Please be cautious and keep you and your family safe! We are praying that this will soon pass and we can be back to church again. We will keep you informed on every decision in the coming days. May God bless and keep you all!

Sincerely,

Danny Chance, Pastor

July 14 | Important Message from Pastor

Dear CLC Family,

This letter is to inform you that we will NOT have service at CLC tonight! This is strictly a precautionary move because one of the staff of VBS tested positive for COVID this morning. I feel it would be wise to not have church tonight until we see if there is anybody else that becomes sick and tests positive for COVID.

If you were involved in VBS this week and you become sick or have any symptoms, please let us know. I am doing everything possible to keep from having an outbreak in our church! Again, please know that this is just a precautionary move! Please do not panic! We will work through this, and God will give us direction. I pray all of you do well!

As of now we will plan to have service on Sunday unless something changes. Not having church this evening will give us a few days to know if there is anyone else infected with COVID. Thanks for understanding!

Sincerely,

Danny Chance, Sr. Pastor

February 2 | Important Message from Pastor

Dear Christian Life Church,

As all of you are aware, the last 11 months have been a very trying time for all of us in dealing with the COVID-19 virus! We have tried to make our way through these difficult times depending on the leading of the Lord. Thanks be to God we have not had a major outbreak in the church, although we have had several people that have suffered from the virus and we lost our dear Bro. Jimmy Hart. We pray for his sweet family!

We have not had any Wednesday service for the last 2 months to try and avoid an outbreak of COVID-19 through all the holidays, but now it is time for us to begin service on Wednesdays again.
The purpose of this short letter is to ask you to attend Wednesday services! We all need to get back to the house of God and we need everyone to be faithful! All of our children need to be in Kidlife, our students need to be in their Student Ministry, and every adult needs to be in the Sanctuary! IT IS TIME TO GET BACK TO CHURCH!

If you are a senior or you are still quarantined to avoid the virus I understand. If you are going to work and going about your everyday business, you should come to church! Please understand my concern! Statistics are saying that many people will never return to regular church attendance after the Pandemic! That is what Satan wants! Don’t let this be you! If you are sick, do not come to church!

I do hope you receive this letter as it is written, with lots of love! Every service is important to the saving of our families! I hope to see you Wednesday evening! May God bless and keep you all!

Sincerely,
Danny Chance, Pastor

Previous Updates

December 7 | Important Message from Pastor

Dear Christian Life Church,

I am writing today to inform you that we have made a decision to cancel our Wednesday evening services for the month of December due to the recent COVID-19 outbreak in our area. To this date we have not had a major outbreak at CLC and we are doing everything possible to keep that from happening. We have had several cases of COVID-19 among our members and at this time all have recovered. For this we give God praise!

According to the news reports and statistics for our area there is a surge in COVID cases and deaths. We have worked very hard and prayed much over the last few months to try to lead this church with wisdom through this pandemic, and we don’t need to let our guard down now! With Thanksgiving just past, and Christmas near, we know there will be much activity and gatherings that will no doubt spread the virus even more. Please be cautious and take care of you and your family as we work our way through this very trying time.

We pray that you will understand our reasoning and concern, and that you will continue to support CLC! We will continue to have service on Sunday, but we do ask that you practice social distancing at service as much as is possible and please be very careful. Please do not attend if you are sick or if you knowingly have been exposed to the virus! Our thoughts are that by having service just on Sunday it gives us 6 days between services to know if there is any outbreak.

Thank you for understanding! We pray that God will keep His hand upon you all and that we will soon be past this critical time. May God bless and keep you!

Sincerely,

Pastor Danny Chance

August 1 | Important Message from Pastor

Dear Christian Life Church,

Greetings in Jesus name!

I am writing today to inform you of some new developments with the COVID-19 Virus that affects our church. Bro. Toby Stanley, our Music Minister, has received word today that he has tested positive for COVID-19. He has no symptoms and is not sick at all. However, all the office staff, as well as other members of CLC, have been around Toby this week and have been exposed to the Virus. Toby was unaware of any exposure until Thursday when he was informed that a lady from his secular job had COVID-19 and they sent him to be tested on Thursday. The rapid test showed him to be negative, but the swab test came back positive. So, we have to assume that he is positive.

Due to this situation, we are going to take all precautions and we are cancelling service for tomorrow. We do not want to spread the virus to any of our members! My self, along with all of our office staff will be tested this week before we have another service at CLC. There will be online service in the morning at 10am. I will be talking to all of you then about this situation. As you well know, we have tried to be very careful and tried to avoid any outbreak at CLC and we will continue to do so! If there are any further development, I will let you know.

Please help us pray for God’s protection! Remember to pray for Bro. Alvin Leach who is in the hospital with COVID. He is 92 years old and has been in the nursing home for several months. Earlene Stanley Smith is now out of the hospital but is in St. Joseph nursing home for rehabilitation. Keep praying for these dear people. I do pray that you will understand my decisions for cancelling service. It is strictly precautionary! Please stay safe and join us online for service on Sunday and Wednesday.

Sincerely,

Danny Chance, Pastor

July 13 | COVID Update

Dear Christian Life Church;

As you may already know today marks the beginning of a new mandate by Gov. Edwards that businesses and public facing organizations should require the use of masks as an additional precaution against the spread of Covid-19.

We want to clarify how this will impact our worship services and social distancing guidelines for the duration of this current order. While the Governor expressly said that he will not be enforcing this mandate by fining Churches/Pastors, we feel that the wise and biblical response is to comply with the request as much as is in our ability. Romans chapter 13 teaches us that we should be subject to governing authorities, as they are ultimately working for our good.

How this mandate will affect CLC:

We ask that those over the age of 8 wear protective masks to worship services in compliance with the mandate.

While we understand that masks are a hot button issue and that many opinions exist about them, we also feel it is our responsibility to provide a place where everyone feels safe to worship.

By operating in accordance with the mandate we are honoring authority, as well as honoring and preferring our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Our goal is to move through these difficult times with a spirit of unity and deference to those around us. As the church it is important that we not let our good be evil spoken of within our own ranks, as well as in our community.

We ask this as a request, not a demand. We understand that there are mitigating health issues and legitimate reasons that some cannot wear masks. As a result we will not be enforcing use of masks, and ask that we treat every person with respect in regards to this issue.

We will continue to have services.

Many questions have been asked about how the Governor’s limitation of social gatherings to 50 people or less will affect the church. According to the mandate this limitation does not apply to essential businesses which includes Churches and religious gatherings. We will continue having church services on Sundays, and once we feel it is appropriate will resume Wednesday services at that time.

We do ask for your continued prayer for our leadership during this pandemic. These are challenging issues and our goals are to keep everyone safe; and to continue to worship together weekly.

Thank You & God Bless!

June 29 | Important Message from Pastor

Dear Friend,

Greetings in Jesus name!

I hope this letter finds you doing well and staying safe! These days are like none that we have faced before. That is why I am writing this short letter.

As you probably know, Sunday I announced that we would discontinue Wednesday evening services for the next few weeks. My reason for doing that is because COVID-19 is again on the rise and we are doing all we can to keep everyone safe. I know of several churches that have had outbreaks of the virus and in some cases, there has been death. We are doing our very best to avoid this at CLC. I feel like having Sunday service only at this time will help us.
It gives us 6 days between each service and time to know if there is any sickness or spread of the virus. However, we will have online service every Wednesday evening at 7pm. I encourage you to go to clcmonroe.org to be a part of that service. I do hope you understand!

As we continue to have Sunday service, I am asking each of you to continue to practice Social Distancing! Perhaps it would be good to skip every other row in our seating. If you are sick, please stay at home until you are well! Feel free to wear your mask! Use the hand sanitizer we supply at each entrance. These are things that will help us tremendously!

Let me say to you that we are not living in fear, but we must be wise in our decisions. I personally want to thank you for your cooperation! Also, thank you for continuing to support the church financially during these stressful times. Hopefully, we will get this behind us soon and we will be able to enjoy worship and fellowship as we all love to do!

Please call me if you need anything! I deeply love and appreciate you all!

Sincerely,
Danny Chance, Sr. Pastor

June 10 | Important Message from Pastor

Dear Christian Life Church,

I feel the need to write to you one more time concerning COVID-19. I am very thrilled that we are allowed to be back in the house of God to worship, but I am very concerned that we may not be taking the precautions needed to be safe! Therefore, I want to remind you of some things we must do as a body.

PLEASE keep your distance (6 feet) from everyone at church! We have senior citizens that want to come to church, but do not want anyone close to them for safety purposes. It may not bother you, but it may bother someone around you.

PLEASE sit together as families and sit at least 6 feet from one another. It would be good if we could sit on every other row or at the opposite end of the row in front of you. Whatever you do, stay 6 feet away from others.

PLEASE do not shake hands with anybody! As a matter of fact, it would be good not to fist bump or even touch anyone else! If you talk to someone please do not get close to their face.

PLEASE use the hand sanitizer stations provided at the entrance if needed. Feel free to wear a mask also!

As much as we like to fellowship, PLEASE move out of the Sanctuary quickly when church is over. There will come a time soon for us to fellowship again.

I know we have spoken about all these things before, but it seems to me that we are becoming careless with our guidelines. I know of other churches that have had outbreaks of COVID-19 and I am doing my best to keep us safe! I hope you understand!

Sincerely,
Danny Chance, Sr. Pastor

May 14 | Update from Pastor

Greetings in Jesus name!

At last….We are going to be able to have service again at CLC Sunday at 10am! If you are like me, you are glad! I am like David, “I was glad when they said unto me, let us go into the house of the Lord!” Let me give a word of guidance as to how we will proceed.

First of all, we will do our best to follow the guidelines laid out by our Governor and President. We will absolutely practice Social Distancing! We are allowed to have 25% occupancy of our building so that means that we can put 300 people in the Sanctuary. We will have an overflow area in the Student Center if needed. The guidelines below will tell how we will accomplish this.

We will have Sunday and Wednesday service at our normal times. There will not be any Kidlife Services on Wednesday or Sunday at this present time. There will still be services and activities for the Kids online. We will allow our Students to have their service on Wednesday evening as long as they practice the guidelines set in place. This is our first step forward and we intend to be very careful.

I want to personally encourage those of you over 65 that are not comfortable to come to church to continue to stay at home and join our services online! As a matter of fact, I do not want anyone coming to church that feels at risk or has any kind of sickness. Your absence from service is fully understood!

Please know that we are doing our best to be safe. We encourage you to be mindful of others! This will be very different from the way we normally operate, but we can make this work if everyone cooperates. I am excited about seeing our church family again! Let’s have a great day of worship this Sunday!

The guidelines that will be in place will be listed below. We ask that you fully cooperate!

▪️ We encourage anyone who feels vulnerable or uncomfortable, with being in a large crowd, especially those 65+ to stay home and join us online via FB live, YouTube.com/clcmonroe or clcmonroe.org/live

▪️ We ask that no-one shake hands and to take advantage of the hand sanitizer stations available on our campus.

▪️ All of our ushers will be wearing mask and gloves, please allow them to open the doors for you when entering the church.

▪️ Practice Social Distancing (6 feet apart) - Before, during, and after each service.

▪️ We ask that families sit together during service. When choosing your seating, please respect other families and abide by social distancing of 6 feet.

▪️ If you would like, we encourage you to wear a mask.

▪️ If you are ill, please do not attend. Your absence is understood!

▪️ There will be no KidLife on Sunday's and Wednesday's during this time. Please tune in on YouTube for weekly activities.

▪️ There will be NO KICKSTART until further notice.

▪️ Prayer rooms will not be open. Pray at home before you come!

Sincerely,
Danny Chance, Sr. Pastor

March 31 | Letter from Pastor

March 31 | Letter from Pastor

Dear Friend,

Greetings in the name of Jesus! I trust this letter finds you doing well!

We are experiencing times like we have never faced before! Who would have ever believed that the world could be brought to a stop the way it has over the last few days? Worse than anything else, we have not been able to meet together to have church! We are certainly seeing things we have never seen. These are trying times!

I wanted to write this letter and encourage you to “Stay Strong and Keep the Faith”! I urge you to use this time of social distancing to draw closer to God through prayer and study of God’s word. We must understand that the building is not the church, but we are the church!

The scriptures teach us to assemble together, and we will soon be doing exactly that again. But we must be wise in our decisions right now so that we will not cause anyone to be exposed to this deadly virus, COVID-19. I miss being in the house of God and I know that you do too. I urge you to get online and watch our services every Wednesday and Sunday. Gather your family around you and have church with us in your own home! (but don’t get to liking that too much! ☺) I do thank God we are able to minister online! At least we get to have some kind of church! We are also reaching many people through our webcast that does not attend CLC.

Thank you so much for being faithful with your tithes and offerings! This is vital for our church to continue ministering to our world. There are several ways to give. You may give online at clcmonroe.org, by text at 318-301-3601, or by mail at 6680 Frontage Rd, Monroe, LA 71202. If you need us to, one of our staff will even come to your home and receive your contribution to CLC. God has continued to bless us and we are continuing as normal because of your faithfulness!

Just remember that God is sitting upon the circle of the earth! He knows exactly who we are and where we are! He has all things in His hands! What my dad would have said is, “When you cannot tract God, Trust Him!” I still believe that! This crisis could very well bring a great awakening that could thrust us into the last day outpouring of God’s Spirit as never before! Pray that will happen!

I will see you in the house of God soon! Again, “Stay Strong and Keep the Faith!” If you need me my cell number is 318-381-0040. Feel free to call! I love you all very much!

Sincerely,

Danny Chance, Sr. Pastor

March 16 |  Gov. Edwards Announces Aggressive Measures to Prevent the Spread of COVID-19

These changes are effective statewide at midnight. Operations may be able to resume on April 13, however, the situation will be reevaluated seven days prior. In Louisiana, there are 132 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and two people have died.

March 13 |  COVID-19 Statement

At Christian Life Church, we take the health and safety of our church very seriously. With the growing concern of the COVID-19 virus pandemic, we feel it would be wise to remind our congregation of a few things.

While we ultimately trust in God for our protection, we also must use the wisdom God has given and take common-sense precautions as a church.
We are temporarily instituting the following common-sense precautions:

▪️ A "smile & wave" greeting at church services rather than handshaking. Please refrain from the simple actions, such as handshaking and then touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.
▪️ A thorough disinfecting of hard surfaces such as doorknobs, faucet handles, etc.
▪️ Disinfecting all toys and equipment in Kids areas
▪️ We ask that anyone with fever, sore throat, or symptoms of illness, stay home and join us for worship online.
▪️ Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue.
▪️ We encourage you to wash your hands frequently. We are providing hand sanitizer at multiple stations around our campus, requesting the use multiple times while on our campus.
